RES 1006 - Information Competency and Library Use This course is designed for students to leverage prior learning experience and acquire new resources for graduate study and lifelong learning. This course introduces students to the ethical, legal, and socio-economic issues of information and the changing environment of scholarly publishing. This course is also a preparation for information research (literature review) as it pertains to the thesis or dissertation by working through the process of defining and articulating information needs related to a specific topic, identifying, and selecting the appropriate resources, developing and executing research strategies, critically interpreting and analyzing results, and presenting them in a professional style (APA, 6th ed.). 2 credit(s)
