Return to: College of Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences Concepts of mindfulness and compassion-based leadership have gained commercial and institutional popularity, but there are limited evidence-based educational programs that focus on foundational models and related skills and approaches.
The specialization in Mindful Leadership in Healthcare includes 15 credits of coursework that includes reflective, mindfulness, and compassion-based approaches to leadership in healthcare. Students will also acquire and master practical skills including grant writing and consulting.

Notes
- The average time to complete the 75-78 degree requirements with or without a specialization is 4.5 to 5.5 years.
- A listing of acceptable CIMHS courses and electives is available in the university catalog and online Master Index. Students may also choose electives from other academic departments.
- The PhD MBM degree does not qualify graduates for medical licensure.
