APH 5625 - Intermediate Training and Education in Hypnosis This course provides students with an advanced skill-set to conduct advanced hypnotic interventions, along with additional knowledge about hypnotic concepts and approaches. In addition, the student develops a sophisticated ability to learn and assess new applications of hypnosis to common medical and behavioral disorders. This course provides students with an intermediate level of understanding helpful for engaging in hypnosis-based clinical practice and hypnosis-oriented research in integrative health. This course introduces more challenging trance induction protocols, trance deepening techniques, and uses of posthypnotic suggestion. In addition, the student learns specific approaches and techniques for a number of advanced application areas, including: 1. pain management, 2. treatment of anxiety disorders, 3. habit change protocols, 4. weight management, and 5. ego strengthening hypnotic interventions. In addition, the course reviews scientific approaches to investigating hypnotic phenomena, trains students to implement a widely accepted measures of hypnotic ability, and engages the student in discussion of ethical and appropriate uses of hypnotic techniques.
