PSY 6010 - The Psychology of Multiculturalism in North America Focusing on the psychological aspects of living in a multicultural society, this course acquaints students with the variety of cultural traditions within the United States. Topics covered in Psychology of Multiculturalism include the examination of the psychological implications of being a member of a minority group, understanding the impact of ethno-cultural values upon thought and behavior, questions about the universality of the human experience and the origins of personality, and theoretical statements about multiculturalism and the balancing of conflicting and sometimes competing interests in society. 3 credit(s)
