PSY 6030 - Personality Theory and Research This course provides an overview of classical and contemporary theory and research in personality. Topics include an examination of various theories including contrasts among psychoanalytic, social learning and humanistic perspectives; current theoretical controversies; the function and evolution of theory; and major methodological issues. Special attention is given to new theories and research on aspects such as intrinsic motivation, emotions, and locus of control, pro-social behavior, self-concept, and personality change. 3 credit(s)
