CES 7025 - Instructional Theory and PracticeThis course prepares students to teach in Counselor Education programs. Topics covered are learning theories, retention of material, motivation, classroom instructional strategies and techniques, and assessment of learning. This course will provide an overview of the history and development of counselor education with an examination of the theoretical orientation and practice skills necessary to function effectively as a counselor educator. Students will examine their personal philosophy of teaching and learning and demonstrate the ability to design, deliver, and evaluate methods appropriate to course objectives. This course will provide students with an opportunity to co-teach a course, under supervision of the course faculty member. 3 credit(s) |
