PSY 3025 - Biological Bases of BehaviorThis course is an exploration of biological bases of behavior with special emphasis on clinical examples. This course addresses questions of how the human brain and nervous system produce our range of behaviors: sensation, emotions, sleep and dreams, reproductive behavior, language, and memory. Beginning with the basic structure and function of the nervous system, we move to explore the organic bases of behavior exploring how endocrine, immune, and nervous systems contribute to homeostasis, health, and disease. Clinical examples include depression, schizophrenia, eating disorders, sleep disorders, aggression, dyslexia, and amnesias. 3 credit(s) |
