MBM 5515 - Foundations in ThanatologyThis foundational course provides a comprehensive overview of thanatology, the study of death and dying. Students will examine various perspectives on the topic of dying; end-of-life decision making; loss, grief, and mourning; assessment and intervention; traumatic death, and death education. They will also explore their individual experiences of death and their attitudes toward the process of dying. The content is organized around the body of knowledge matrix developed by the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC). This course prepares students for the ADEC certification examination in thanatology. Prerequisite(s): None 3 credit(s) |
