PSY 8242 - Advanced Personality Assessment


This course will more rigorously examine personality assessment measures in both children and adults. Students will have an opportunity to refine their skills on child and adult objective personality measures, brief rating scales and
screeners for children and adults, and preliminary training on child and adult projective measures. Symptom validity analysis will also be explored. Ethical and cultural considerations in personality assessment will also be covered. This is
the second course in the specialization sequence and should be taken in the spring semester of the 3rd year of training. Students must be at a practicum site where they have access to clients and assessment materials. The course has a
residential component completed at the RC (Advanced Personality Assessment Lab) with additional hands on training related to test administration, scoring, and interpretation. Prerequisite: Formal acceptance to the Advanced Psychological Assessment Specialization 3 credit(s)
