MBM 5558 - Advanced Research Method II

Advanced Research Method II is an elective option for students who completed MBM 5557 and is interested in learning a second research methodology. If the specific methodology is not offered through the department of research, students will enroll in MBM 5557 with an approved methodologist in an individually mentored format.

This course provides an in-depth overview of the student's chosen method, its theoretical and philosophical foundations, and the practical skills needed to conduct and critique a research study. The learning activities prepare students with specific competencies necessary to formulate a research question, collect and analyze data, recognize ethical implications, and present findings within the methodological framework. They will also critique a dissertation that utilized the same method. The culminating assignment requires each student to design a pilot study proposal and prepare an IRB application. These documents may be used in the subsequent pilot study course. Prerequisite(s): MBM 5553 or MBM 5556 and MBM 5557 3 credit(s)
