COUN 2703S - Experiential: Crisis and Trauma Intervention


This course supports the co-required course COUN 2562. The course explores social, cultural, developmental, physiological, and psychological factors in relation to vulnerability, resiliency, and recovery. Cultural sensitivity and the importance of client advocacy and working with consumer groups in aiding recovery are emphasized. The course explores stages of assessment, intervention, and recovery in relation to early attachment, physiology, and resiliency. This experiential course will also provide time to reflect on individual responses to trauma and ways to be authentic when working with clients in trauma. 15 Contact Hours.
