IFN 5679 - Practicum in Integrative and Functional Nutrition


This course is structured to allow students to explore real-world situations related to future practice in integrative and functional nutrition. The appropriate student-identified clinical site allows students to engage practicum clients in integrative and functional nutrition therapy, dietary and nutritional counseling, and health education approaches and techniques for individuals or groups. The practicum can also be arranged to pursue community nutrition, research, food systems, industry and policy practice areas. Possible practice settings include: hospitals, clinics, schools, nursing homes, community centers, wellness and fitness centers, homeless shelters, prisons, food systems, farm programs, and industry and corporate work places. A total of 100 supervised practice hours are required, however, students can choose how they would like to complete these hours over the course of the 8-week term.
