MBM 5674 - Ayurvedic MedicineThis course provides an overview of the medical traditions and medical practices of India. The course provides an opportunity for students to study Ayurveda as a lifestyle and as a healing tradition, and to consider the relationship between Ayurvedic medicine and Western biomedicine. Students study the conceptual paradigm of Ayurveda, historical foundations, the typical physician-patient relationship, and commonly used interventions in current practice. What are the characteristics of Ayurveda that can inform and contribute to the modern concept of wellness?
