RES 3000 - Quantitative Research: Experimental and other designs

This course provides students with an in-depth study of quantitative research designs.  The course consists of four modules.  Module I introduces students to the course and the method.   Module II presents the underlying theoretical and philosophical foundations of the method, the method itself, and the criteria used to assess the quality the research.  Module II also addresses issues of research safety, ethics, feasibility and IRB.  Module III shows the method in practice, both in journal articles and a doctoral dissertation.  Finally, module IV gives students the opportunity to design a pilot study using the method, as well as prepare a research proposal and IRB application.
